This was our best sailing day yet. We had lots of wind, and the Bay was fairly empty, being that it was Labor Day and everyone was going home to get ready for the new school year. With sustained winds at 13kts we finally got the boat heeling and since it was coming in perpendicular to Island Beach we were able to pretty much hold a beam reach all day. We made it all the way to the marker in front of Forked River.

We totally passed another sailboat, only to find that he was just flying a jib when we were running wide open. Chip considered it a victory but Jen classified it as no contest. We made an effort to avoid pulling out at low water, which went much more smoothly than the last trip, even with less crew to wrangle the boat.
